Cate loves wide open spaces. She loves to escape from Sister and pretend that no one is watching her, and then she turns around to see who might really be watching her. And then she throws her neck back as far as she can balance her big head and laughs. I laugh watching her.

 

I don't diet.

I run. My eating philosophy has always been to eat relatively well and then run it off. I love to eat and I love to run so the combination has worked out well. But over the last year running has been pushed to the back burner over sleep, time with my girls, and work. So I decided about a month ago I had to have some help in getting more in shape.

I was introduced to Advocare by my friend Gail from Memphis and she has coached me through the last 22 days of my 24 Day Challenge. The 'diet' is foods I love - fruits, veggies, and lean meats - coupled with vitamin supplements, protein shakes, and energy kool-aid. It's made me feel great especially for my runs! I'm an AdvoCare believer and have shared my success with a few people but I wanted to do a post on the blog because Gail is coming over from Memphis on Sunday to talk to anyone who wants to kick start a weight loss plan. Yesterday the girls started new classes at their daycare. Caroline said she is in the "Pre-Kid" class now! I thought the change might be hard since she LOVED her last teacher but every morning so far she has said she is excited to go be a Pre-Kid! She wouldn't let me take any pictures of her yesterday or today, and then by the time I made it with everything to Cate's class I forgot to take her picture. Mr. Nick seemed to have a good first day yesterday too but we all had our lights out by 10 pm last night because we were zonked!  

A little over a year ago Chris and I had a pros and cons list going on moving to LR. On my pros list was Pinnacle Mountain and the outdoor recreational opportunities that we lacked in the Delta.

As a resident now I love that Caroline always wants to go hiking! Saturday we met Guy and Liz and took advantage of the beautiful weekend weather and climbed Pinnacle for Caro's third time. No snake sighting this time. G posted another photo here.

Daddy daughter time

I had some unexpected travel last week, and it was also Chris' last week before going back to work, so he had some special daddy daughter time. And according to Caroline, that included trips to the library (mom-approved) and the donut shop (not approved).

It also included bunge-wrapping Sister in for a joy ride which she seemed to love!
