You can take the boy out of the country...

but you can't take the country out of the boy as evident when the girls took their boys out to some uppity shops in South Main.

After cleaning off the free drinks they did some shopping...

Welcome Grandma Dee to the blog! We were lucky to have her join us for swim lessons and our outing to the Farmers Market this morning where Caroline taste-tested a giant, organic strawberry. The market is now open on Saturday mornings at the train station downtown.

How did they do that?

Chris calls this her 'just got out of prison' pose. Poor thing, she takes the WORST pictures at school... her Valentine's day picture card, the pic for her Easter Egg... all horrible! So here's her Spring picture which makes me wonder about a lot of things but the main one is how did they get her to do that Glamour Shots hand pose there? Never in a million years could I get her to do that (notice she's doing it in both shots)!

Enjoyed the weekend.

Enjoyed relaxing. Enjoyed the sunshine and the coolness the rain brought. Enjoyed having no plans Sat night or Sunday. Enjoyed downtown Memphis and free books at the library. Enjoyed watching Caroline splash through mudpuddles until her dad couldn't take it anymore. Enjoyed running 8 miles. Here's to another good week!

The Weight Watchers craze

There are a ton of (very disciplined) people I know doing Weight Watchers right now and doing really, really well with it! As for me I am staying far away from anything called a diet and sticking to just running it off. Nonetheless, everyone in my little group at the office has fallen head-over-heels for those Oreo cheesecake cupcakes (see previous posting) which are yummy but unfortunately aren't on the Weight Watchers 'free filler foods' list. So for my boss' b-day today I tried a WW receipe to share. Pretty tasty...

Hello Friday!

I have had more people tell me over the last few weeks that they check our blog. I am delightfully suprised... thank you for visiting our page! When I started this over a year and a half ago I didn't really understand it but thought it would be a cool way to share pictures of our baby-to-be with family. And it has been that, but it's also been a great way communicate with friends and celebrate our daughter's life. Thanks for reading and for all your (posted and non-posted) comments!

Caroline's school is closed today so our family is enjoying the day together at home. Yesterday her class had an Easter Egg Hunt and here's a few pics. We had a surprise visitor -- Grandpa Dave was in town and got to stop by for the party.

Hanging out with her favorite classmate, Wyatt...

(Please ignore Caroline's shirt/pants combination. Evidently she enjoyed the party food so much before I arrived that she had to be changed. Those clothes are still soaking. )
Have a happy Easter weekend everyone!

A case of the Mondays

Sometimes there are weekends that are so good you really don't want them to end. That was this weekend; it was jam- packed with enjoying the sunshine and watching little Miss Caroline explore everything in her world. Ah, to soak up life the way she does!

We started swim lessons!

Visiting the Easter Bunny. She sat frozen on his lap!
