Stimulus package

Our stimilus package officially went effect a few weeks ago: We made the switch to cups and pure milk! So today we had a retirement party, packed up bottles and threw away the last of the formula. Goodbye!

Going green in Memphis

As part of all the interesting things I get to do in my job, last week I helped host an 8th grader from Grace St. Luke's to shadow folks at HBG. We went on a tour of this project and last weekend I was telling a couple of people about. Its grand opening is today so I wanted to post the real info about some of it's cool features since my 'green' knowledge is pretty limited. Hopefully this project will lead the way for more environmentally friendly designs in Memphis (though doubtful until King Willie is removed from his throne).

Why we love 3-day weekends

Yes, President's Day was last week but we decided to take a belated celebration day because we desperately needed a three day break. We headed to central Arkansas to celebrate the upcoming nuptials of one of my best buddies and also were able to spend time with many of our families.

Please welcome Poppa Willie to his first blog appearance...

The Curious Case of the Gastrocnemius Strain

Out of nowhere I have a Gastroc Strain which is causing severe soreness in the back inside calf -- luckily in just one leg. I am unscientifically pointing my fingers at my new shoes and the poor running surfaces in WM.

Prescribed remedy: 6 weeks off and a lot of annoying stretches. Which is quite unfortunate since the LR Half is in 5 weeks.

Celebrating a life

Our little cupcake turned one last Saturday, Jan 31! One whole year has flown by. I think our Christmas card summed it up best...laughing a lot, sleeping a little!

Caroline is truly an angel on earth and everyday we thank God for bringing her into our lives, and we look forward to the journey He has in store for our family.

We were so lucky to have a big party with all sides of our family. (Thank you Nana!) Thank you to everyone for making it such a special day for Caroline. As the saying goes... life is not about the milestones but about the life that happens while getting there.
