I'm Irritable.

Well, at least my uterus is! After another contractions scare, today we learned that I'm not having preterm labor but that my uterus is irritable! Whatever that means! Basically my 'new normal' will be to experience this low-level twitching of the muscle that causes irregular contractions. Nonetheless, it doesn't bother Baby Nick who is now weighing in at a big 2 lbs! Here is a picture from today to confirm she is sitting pretty, and Chris adds she's got the Choate chin. We'll see!

112 days to go

Monday night we had a little wake up call! I had (false!?!) contractions for over an hour! With 16 weeks to go it is too early for sister to come! As a stark contradiction to Baby #1, Baby #2 has nothing but two packs of newborn diapers and boxes of hand-me-down clothes. She is also 'moving' into a house that looks like a tornado hit it 7 days a week (except for those Saturday mornings that Chris gets motivated)!

What she does have is a wonderful big sister and an amazing extended family. Besides the bassinet what else does she need??

Key Ingredients to a Good Weekend

Including this new favorite: Flourless Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:

7 oz really good (45–50% cocoa) semisweet chocolate
3/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar, divided
4 eggs, separated

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Melt chocolate and butter in a double boiler. Stir together half the sugar and four yolks; add to melted chocolate concoction.
2. Using an electric mixer, beat the egg whites; slowly add remaining 1/2 cup sugar until stiff peaks form. Fold mixture into chocolate. Pour into a greased 9-inch cake pan.
3. Bake 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out with just a few crumbs on it. Cool 30 minutes before removing from pan. Dust with powdered sugar.

3. Great company! So glad we got to see so much of our family during this visit! Unfortunately we are still learning how to use our new camera (reading the directions could help!) so not many of our pictures turned out.

It's the season to watch things grow

TGI Monday!

TGI Monday because our family needed to get out of our house! After being home since Thursday I am thankful for a new week and that everyone is well enough to return to their routine! Caroline is much, much better! She really is a little trooper but having the Scarlet Fever/Strep combination made her more sick than she is ever been.

Hope everyone has a great week!  We are hoping that we are still well enough to make a Beebe trip this weekend!

Beauty (CSN) and the Beast (CDN) are both home sick today.    :  ( 
Hopefully watching Beauty and the Beast in bed will cure some of their ailments.

UPDATE: My beauty has Scarlet Fever and Strep Throat. We pray that we can get it over it quickly and that it doesn't infect our whole house! Hope every one else gets to enjoy this beautiful weekend!!

I hate our camera.

So blame the camera for having no blog posts over the last week. We've had a busy but fun last week - going to the ballet, Grizzlies game, having a visit from Ma - but due to our crappy camera we don't have any pictures to share. The camera is about to go in the trash can but the problem is we haven't taken the time to figure out what to buy to replace it. Our preference is a digital SLR; if you have any recommendations please email me! UPDATE: We ordered a new camera yesterday! Can't wait to receive it this week!
