Welcome Fall

A moment of silence...ah.

The last hour in our house has been dead silent and that's the first time I can remember it being that way in a while -- especially in the last week since we listed the house. Not that we've had a ton of showings, only 2, but everything else has been wild! The Honda's transmission blew up, Chris has been using our house as a physical science lab for his class, Caroline fell off the couch and crashed her head, I had an intense week of interviewing in Knoxville, Ike's been attacked by some unknown allergy, we could only make it through half of the Indians (oh I mean Red Wolves) versus Memphis game, Caroline's new wake up time is 4:45 am (and I am I now thinking that's a normal time to get up -- am I crazy!) so AH!

I tried to get Ike to pose, but he wasn't into it. A for sale sign kinda looks weird in our yard!

While Ayden Gage Wilkie Havens was indulging himself in his froggy cake in honor of his 1st birthday...

Caroline played with all his big kid toys...

Notice that Caroline has introduced her fall clothing collection. Today's outfit was compliments of Papaw Dave which I think was intended to match the cowboy boots he gave her. Still gotta grow into those. And we must give a big thank you to Dave for all his help on Saturday in getting us one step closer to putting our house up for sale. Almost there!

VIPs

Have you ever had Copa? Well don't. Food critic John Morgan describes is as 'death'. I say it tastes like something that has been in the basement for a while. Nonetheless everything else at Lolo's Table last night was yummy, including my cheese grits. Our Soap Opera club received the VIP treatment since we were its only and most important customers. If you haven't visited Lolo's downtown (next to McEwen's) then you are missing out though I think its lunch menu is better than the dinner.

Tasty Treat of the Week

My official taste testers have approved this one blog-worthy. Thank you John Morgan and Chris Nick! This one is easy and gets better as the week goes on!

Banana - Cream Cheesecake
Prep Time:15 min
Total Time:5 hr 5 min

1 pkg. (2-layer size) white cake mix, divided
4 eggs, divided
3 Tbsp. oil
2/3 cup packed brown sugar, divided
2 bananas, sliced
2 pkg. (8 oz. each) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened (I use 1/3 Less Fat cheese.)
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1-1/2 cups milk
1-1/2 cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping (I use the Lite.)

HEAT oven to 300ºF. Reserve 1 cup dry cake mix. Mix remaining cake mix with 1 egg, oil and 1/3 cup sugar with mixer. (Mixture will be crumbly.) Press onto bottom and 1 inch up sides of greased 13x9-inch baking pan; top with bananas.

BEAT cream cheese and remaining sugar with mixer. Add reserved cake mix, remaining eggs and lemon juice; beat 1 min. Blend in milk. (Batter will be very thin.) Pour into crust.

BAKE 45 to 50 to min. or until center is almost set. Cool. Refrigerate 4 hours. Top with COOL WHIP. Refrigerate leftovers.

Straight from Greer Street

As much as we love our neighborhood, our location, our fabulous backyard, being on Greer Street, being near the new Jason's Deli, and picking up golf balls from the super rich country club across the street... all good things must come to an end and we hope that for us it's sooner than later. We have been working diligently to get #416 ready to be put on the market (see example above). Our super cute little cottage house has somehow shrunk this year! Could it be global warming???

We're not sure where were are going to go from here but we know that God will guide our way (and I am pretty sure he won't be guiding us to Collierville) and we are excited about our next step. Our plan is to get the house listed next week so when we do I'll post our listing link so that our blog friends can pass it on to anyone that might be house hunting.

Is it really the end of summer?

Our waterbaby hopes not! (But I'm ready for cooler nights for running.) We had a great Labor Day weekend making the rounds in Arkansas. I love these two pictures of Caroline in her boat!
