"Caroline, do you like basketball?"

"No! Band!"

Chris got to watch basketball, I watched the cheerleaders, and Caroline watched the Tiger mascot play with the band, and we were all happy after going to the Tiger game Saturday night. Except that our seats were at the VERY TOP ROW in the very, very steep top level. So this wall behind me is the very back -- SCARY! Caroline doesn't care here as she devours a giant cookie.

Our view from the top zoomed in about 50%.

We had a great weekend hanging around the house and letting Caroline rule the roost. One thing about her is that she likes to look good and she doesn't mind asking for help to get there. Sunday Big G came for a visit and she roped him in on cleaning her teeth.

Hair drying is a new thing and she will only let Chris do it. Lookin' good!

January = Cake

The only thing good about January is that every time we turn around it is somebody's birthday! So we must celebrate and eat cake at every opportunity. Last weekend we celebrated with Asher who turned 3 and Nene was able to go to the party with us at Pump It Up.

Caroline the first 30 minutes...tightly gripped to Nene.

The next 30 minutes...still not interested in anything that bounces at the big bounce place but much more interested in being smushed in the car with Asher.

The next 30 minutes she finally had the courage to go in...

The last 30 minutes...

I did some celebrating of my own. Kudos to my husband who did really good this year with the birthday gifts in honor of my 30th. Thanks to everyone for my birthday wishes and happy cake eating to all the other January birthdays!

Bon voyage to our dear friends, the Morgans.

It's clear I'm not cut out to be a stay-at-home mom, but this week has been a real blessing to have so much time with my almost two year old little girl, who can clearly speak in sentences and likes to use her whole body to express her art.

Peppermint sticks and the Nicks

Home Sweet Home! We are back at home after having a wonderful Christmas 2009.

Before being in central Arkansas I had the opportunity to join Mom on her work trip to Dallas for a few days. Lots of good Tex-Mex but the highlight of the trip was getting to visit the Gaylord Texan. The property is one of HBG's signature projects: a convention center with 1500 hotel rooms and a 4.5 acre atrium. It was totally Christmas'ed out! The pictures don't do it justice but it truly was beautiful. Thank you to the Morgans, who were married here last year, for showing Carla and me around...

What I had really wanted to do on my tag-along trip to the Big D was to read a book in a coffee shop and enjoy some alone time. Didn't get that but for about 30 minutes one afternoon. I call this my "Guy pic".

Once home from Dallas it was time to begin celebrating Christmas with all of our family. It was such a gift to be off work and in Beebe for so long to not be rushed through the holidays but to really enjoy time with all of our families. We thank them all for being so generous to us this Christmas with giving so much time to us and gifting us with such nice presents.

Caroline discovered a new friend: CANDY!

Fun presents...

and FUNNY presents...
Off this week to enjoy some more vacation time full of playdates and home time! Happy New Year!
