Snow day

Don't blink, Caroline, because you probably won't see snow again until 2010. At least I hope not! Bring on the warm sunshine!

Lance Armstrong, my new running partner, and my other new best friend

Look closely because they are both inside that little green thing attached to my new Mizunos. I can't believe I didn't know anything about this miracle before, but within 48 hours it has revolutionized my running. (Sorry, Dr. Audra I couldn't lay off running for too long.) For my birthday my wonderful boss gave me a Nike+ for my ipod which is two parts -1. has a sensor for my shoe and 2. is attached to my ipod. The sensor tracks my every move so at anytime during a run it can tell me how long, how fast and how many calories. It's got a whole host of other features which I have yet to try except for the feature where Lance Armstrong comes on after a run and says "congratulations, you're the best runner ever" or something like that. Anyway, it's an outside runner's necessity.

Any day that ends in Y

Any day that ends in Y is a good day to spend at home with Caroline. Today was one of those extra special days that I got to be at home thanks to the MLK holiday. And is it just icing on the cake that it's the last day of the Bush reign??

Homemade smores -- made with leftover chocolate Santas -- topped it all off tonight. This is prior to the fire smoking us into the back of the house so we could open all the windows and turn on the fans but, hey, it was good while it lasted and the smores were worth it.

Savor the good days.

Countdown to 30

I guess I've actually completed 29 years so I am really in my 30th year! AH! Really though I don't think I'll have a problem turning 30... ask me that in a year!

I celebrated turning 29 with the ultimate girls weekend with gal pals Ashley B. and Cherie in the big city of Oxford. I do have to say it's a fun little town for shopping, eating and pampering. We hit up the yummy City Grocery and BottleTree Bakery. Chris and Caroline took care of each other for the weekend -- and survived! Here's what I arrived home to on Sunday...

Thank you to all who remembered me on my birthday this year with your calls and emails! The biggest thanks to my husband who waited on me before he ate the cake.

Back to the grind

Yesterday the 5 am brutal alarm clock rang. I awoke and had no idea what it was because it's been so long. Now we are back to the grind which is good but it reminded me that I hadn't posted Caroline's school Christmas party pictures which are just too adorable not to post. These are Caroline's classmates, including Wyatt, who their teachers say is her boyfriend. Basos! Basos!

Happy Everything

Although my 2009 Christmas wish is to be singing Feliz Navidad with an eggnog margarita on the coast of somewhere, we had a wonderful 2008 Christmas and are so thankful that we spent it with the amazing people that we are able to call family. Now it's on to the year 2009...the new year always makes me a little sad and sentimental, makes me think of our friends that we haven't seen in a while, and makes me wonder what's in store for the next 12 months. I look forward to taking on the new year just like Caroline takes on every new day -- to the fullest!
